I love to blog surf. I found Kelly's Korner blog via a link on my friend's blog (Babbling Abby). Kelly started "Show us where you live Fridays" last week. The idea is for us fellow bloggers to post pics to help give each other a sense for the space where we do live (and write:).
This Friday, the feature is living rooms. Here are a few pics of mine - some new, some very old.
The room has changed since the pic below. For starters, I replaced the table to the right of the couch with a round table b/c it wasn't big enough for the scale of the couch. Plus, it didn't have enough room to display pictures, and I LOVE pictures of family and friends.

I also love pillows (esp. toile). Lee's mom made the pillows on the right and left.
Tassels are my way of adding a finishing touch - although I am growing concerned that the ones on the curtain are a choking hazard for Walker...
And you can never go wrong with a monogram (coaster, pillow, tray).
And here is an idea that I stole from one of my best friend's sister's house and used in ours to add some character. We put transoms above our interior doorways.

I will close this huge post with a picture of my sweet boy in the living room this morning (couldn't resist) and a run down of some ways I hope to improve my LR once we have a little extra to spend (which never happens once you have kiddos:).
-I want to replace the little, hand painted coffee table from Target in the middle of the room with an oversized ottoman that Walker and any future Webb babies can cruise around. Not only would it fit the space better, it would also save us from our daily headbumps that can't be softened with corner protectors that won't stay on! Plus, we can use the current one downstairs one day when we finish the basement.
-I want a bookcase/toy box combo - like this one - to go in the corner of the room to told toys and whatnot.
-I want a big area rug to anchor the room - right now it's just plain carpet.
-I want to put tassels on my lamp shades.
-I want to have my couches and carpet steam cleaned.
-I want to be better about changing out my photos - something that I could do now b/c it costs no money, just time!
But for now, I will enjoy the many blessings that I have been given...
