There is only one rule to the experiment: try your best to read the experiences & thoughts of the folks kind enough to share them with an open mind. There will be some ideas you agree with and others may seem different than yours. But I can promise that we will all learn something.
Cheers to another tool in the toolbox:)...

As a stay-at-home-most-of-the-time mom, I will admit that there are days when I run out of stuff to do with Walker. We have read every book on the shelf. We have played chase and airplane. We have baked muffins. We have watered flowers (when it's not 1,000 degrees outside!). And I am just plain out of ideas.
Walker's second birthday is coming up in two weeks, so I decided to create a gift that both of us will enjoy (inspired by many of my crafty blog/irl friends) - a craft box.
Crafts for kids is not a revolutionary idea. I think most mommies keep crayons, construction paper and glue sticks on hand. But I do think having a special box and/or area where all of the craft supplies live within hand's reach makes it easy to squash boredom.
School supplies are on sale everywhere right now, so it's a great time to stock up on all of the goodies and even find a few luxury items such as foam stickers to really kick up the party a few notches;).
Welcome to The Craft Closet (don't worry if you don't have a closet - a box of supplies stored in the pantry or a coat closet works just the same!)
Crayons, washable markers, rulers, hole puncher, paint, etc...
Foam stickers, craft sticks, pipe cleaners, crazy eyes...
Coloring books, sketch pad, construction paper...
My favorite products - washable markers that have chubby handles for chubby toddler hands, alphabet stickers b/c that is something we are working on and cars stickers because Nana has a red Mustang and Waker loves cars!
Finally, I got this inexpensive expandable binder for two bucks to store his artwork instead of letting it linger in piles around the house.
Do you have any suggestions for additional items that I should add to the Craft Closet?
Stay tuned next Friday for a post from one of my dear friends on ways to use crafts to educate your child.
Cute idea, Rach!

gosh I heart this post because of the teacher in me and because school supplies MAKE ME GIDDY with excitement. I also love it because I can't WAIT for Hank to get a wee-bit older so we can craft together!!

I love the expandable folder idea. In fact, I was about to ask for some advise on what to do with bulky or large art projects. I love yoU!
